Terminal Manager
Location: 225 Industrial Rd, Oak Bluff, MB R4G 0A5
The Terminal Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Oak Bluff Distribution Centre. These operations include receiving, storing, and loading fertilizers for distribution. The site facilities feature both dry and liquid fertilizer storage, truck scales and includes rail receiving operations. The manager ensures the optimal functioning of the site and maintains a safe work environment for their employees.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, direct, organize, and control all activities at the Oak Bluff site, providing organizational support and strategic guidance to establish an efficient and operational plans, while maintaining high degree of customer satisfaction;
Lead and manage the team, offering support, mentoring, succession planning, and employee training in accordance with company policies and standards;
Create and monitor key performance indicators for the site (e.g., health/safety, customer service, productivity, and costs) to maximize efficiency and maintain performance;
Oversee the site's budget performance, achieve financial targets, and prepare budgets and forecasts that align with company objectives;
Collaborate with cross functional teams to optimize financial performance, participate in the preparation and monitoring of the operations, CAPEX budgets for their department, with the ability to explain budget variances;
Ensure the proper functioning and sustainability of assets by coordinating maintenance activities within the operations. Closely monitor maintenance performance indicators;
Function as a safety leader and facilitate health and safety as well as workplace improvement committees;
Serve as an ambassador by ensuring compliance with company safety practices and legal requirements, as well as with quality assurance programs, maximizing activities in line with organizational standards;
Control inventory and product quality stored at the site;
Collaborate closely with the Western sales team and supply chain to optimize bulk opportunities managed via the terminal;
Maintain consistent communication with other terminals, internal and external clients, and play a key administrative role regarding leases or contracts;
Maintain any licenses and certifications with regulatory authorities;
Administer maintenance contractor agreements and works;
Ensure compliance with environmental standards, including relations with neighbors.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in administration, operations management, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, job-related training, and professional experience in a related role;
Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience, ideally within the terminal or transportation industry;
Experience in industrial maintenance management is an asset;
Experience in the fertilizer handling industry is an asset;
Recognized communication and collaboration skills;
Knowledge of French is an asset;
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Knowledge of operational efficiency or continuous improvement concepts is an asset.
