Operational buyer- Crop nutrients- Seasonal
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, Crop Nutrients, this position will support the Procurement process by providing the operational and transactional support required to facilitate an efficient procurement workflow. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of procurement processes and be proficient in their computer and analytical skills. This position offers excellent opportunities for growth and advancement within the Procurement Team.
Duration: mid-April until the end of August
Location: Belton or other location in Ontario. This is a hybrid position, with a requirement of attendance to an office when required
Roles and responsibilities
The position requires supporting, participating in, and managing the tasks described below:
- Manage purchase orders, purchase returns, rush orders and contracts, ensuring products are delivered on time and within established quality parameters. Manage discrepancies regarding unreceived products.
- Manage direct orders for Ontario retail and wholesale Networks. Specific duties include Bill Of Lading (BOL) management, PO receipt as well as ensuring Customer Service Teams receive the information required to complete the billing process.
- Manage discrepancies in supplier invoices and credits, including pricing or terms, resolve errors with suppliers, and update systems.
- Participate in the forecasting process.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, process implementation, procedure development and governance of best business practices.
- In collaboration with the Procurement Team, support the day to day process by ensuring Vendor and Item Master data is up to date and accurate.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and contribute to the development of procurement plans to meet these needs.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and organizational policies relating to procurement activities and follow operational procedures.
YOUR STRENGTHS
- Post secondary education (either completed or in progress).
- Agricultural background or experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Basic understanding of purchasing processes, practices and terminology would be anb asset
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software.
- You have a team spirit, a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
